Corder Rewrites De La Salle's Record Book as the Pilots Chase a Historic Three-Peat

Every so often a kid comes along who makes you rethink what's possible, and for us watching Warren De La Salle Collegiate, that kid is senior Andrew Corder. A center back in his club days, Corder got moved to forward as a freshman by coach Thaier Mukhtar — and look what we have now: 90 career goals, the program's all-time goal-scoring leader, and its all-time points leader too. Think about the names he's passing. Corder's 38 goals last year erased the 31 Brady O'Toole set back in 1987, and he surpassed Brian Maisonneuve — a Mr. Soccer winner, a Hermann Trophy champion at Indiana, a Columbus Crew mainstay — for the points record. Maisonneuve, now the head coach at Ohio State, is watching Corder as a college prospect. That is the company this kid keeps. Mukhtar, in a 43-year career, calls Corder the most explosive and dynamic offensive player he has ever coached. Facing double and triple teams, he still put up a goal and three assists against St. Clair. And the Pilots aren't done — two straight Division 2 titles in hand, a win away from becoming the first D1 or D2 program ever to three-peat!
