Offer Sisters Lead Forest Hills Central to First-Ever Girls Golf Title!

What a story coming out of Forest Akers West: Grand Rapids Forest Hills Central claimed their first Finals championship in girls golf, taking Division 2 with a two-day score of 642 and leaving no doubt over a South Lyon squad that posted 687 for its best finish in a two-day Final. Cranbrook Kingswood (713) and Grand Rapids Christian (720) rounded out the top four. And how fitting that a coaching family got to savor it — Ann Offer, in just her second year at the helm after a third-place finish last season, watched her own daughters lead the way. Junior Alivia Offer fired a 149 total, including a 1-under 35 on the front nine Saturday, while Abigail Offer added a 162 to place seventh. The team carried a 17-shot cushion into the final round and never looked back. Over at Katke, NorthPointe Christian defended its throne in style, running away with Division 3 by 37 strokes for a second-straight title under coach Myrna Duflo. Detroit Country Day's Halle Heineman climbed from a tie for seventh last fall all the way to first, four clear of Ionia runner-up Lila Redder.
