Gibbs' Third TD Sinks the Jets as Lions Hold On 31-24!

Down in Detroit on Sunday it took a fourth-year phenom to slam the door, as Jahmyr Gibbs caught an 11-yard go-ahead score with 2:25 left to lift our Lions past the New York Jets 31-24. Gibbs was a one-man wrecking crew — 20 carries for 99 yards and two rushing scores in the second half, plus seven grabs for 65 yards and that game-winning catch. The kid made history too: the first player ever with 300 yards, four rushing touchdowns, 150 receiving yards and two receiving scores through three games. It wasn't easy, and the battling Jets nearly stole it. Geno Smith went 31 of 37 for 321 yards and three touchdowns, erasing a 14-point fourth-quarter hole, before Chuck Clark's sack forced a fumble to seal it. Goff kept humming — 25 of 32 for 269, his TD streak now 26 games, and rookie Kenyon Sadiq hauled in 105 yards and a score. That's 31 points for the third straight week, and it puts us at 2-1, a perfect 2-0 at home. Next up: at Carolina next Sunday night.
