Out at Allen Park, the Lions got back to work with an intense two-hour Monday practice, and the message from Jared Goff and Dan Campbell was clear: 9-8 doesn't sit right around here! Goff is heading into his sixth season in Detroit and his 11th in the league, a 31-year-old, five-time Pro Bowler who missed the playoffs for the first time since 2022 after back-to-back 12-win seasons. That sting is the fuel now. Don't expect to see him early — Goff and most of our starters will sit the preseason opener against the Bengals, though some of the guys could get a look against Washington on Aug. 22 before it all counts. What a resume the man carries: Goff joined Peyton Manning and Tom Brady as the only quarterbacks in NFL history to win 13 games in a season for multiple franchises. The number one overall pick back in 2016, still writing his story in Honolulu blue. It all begins for real against New Orleans on Sept. 13.
