Goff Enters His Sixth Season in Detroit as We Look to Bounce Back from 9-8

Lion's QB Jared Goff is heading into his sixth season in Detroit, entering his 11th year overall, and the man just keeps rewriting his own story! At 31 years old, the five-time Pro Bowler recently joined Peyton Manning and Tom Brady as the only quarterbacks in NFL history to win 13 games in a season for multiple franchises — heady company for the No. 1 overall pick out of the 2016 draft. He's also one of just six QBs ever to log 100 touchdown passes with multiple franchises, and that arc from those first five Rams seasons to now is something we don't take for granted. Last year stung, though: a 9-8 finish, and we missed the playoffs for the first time since 2022 after back-to-back 12-win seasons. Now the work begins in Allen Park. Goff and most of the starters will sit out the preseason opener against the Bengals, though we could see some in action against Washington on Aug. 22 before the season opener against New Orleans on Sept. 13. Monday was an intense two-hour practice, with rookie backup Luke Altmyer getting his reps.
