Big news dropped Saturday, and it's the kind we love to wake up to: our Detroit Lions are signing former All-Pro linebacker Devin White to a one-year deal! White is only 28, and he's coming off a monster season, starting all 17 games for the first time since 2022 and piling up a career-high 174 tackles with 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble down in Tampa Bay. Chew on this number for a second — he's just the 13th player in NFL history since 1994 to hit 170 tackles in a single season. This is a guy with real pedigree, drafted fifth overall in 2019, a Pro Bowler in 2021, and a Super Bowl winner with the Bucs in 2020, where he racked up 140 tackles and nine sacks. Across seven seasons and 100 games he's put up 759 tackles and 25.5 sacks, one of only three players in the league with 500-plus tackles and 20-plus sacks since 2019. And we're adding him to our front seven as LaPorta gets healthy on offense. Whatever it takes to build a defense in Detroit, this is a swing worth taking.
