Nationals Edge Our Tigers 3-1 as Abrams Goes Deep Twice at Comerica

Well, Washington edged the Tigers 3-1 on Tuesday night, evening the series at a game apiece after the Tiger's handled them 9-2 on Monday night, and the whole thing came down to one man: CJ Abrams, who homered twice and drove in the three Nationals' runs. Here's the maddening part about the stretch of games right now — the Tigers have scored exactly one run in all five of their last seven losses, while pouring nine and 11 across in the two wins. Feast or famine, and last night was famine. Drew Anderson pitched well enough to win, five strikeouts and no walks, taking the loss on Abrams' seventh-inning shot. The bats just went quiet. At 74-84 with four games left, we sit tied with Minnesota in the AL Central, 8.5 back of Cleveland. Not our year, but there's still pride to play for. Framber Valdez (10-11, 4.06 ERA) gets the ball in Game 3, Wednesday afternoon at 1:10pm, the series knotted 1-1, streaming on MLB.TV.
