The Lions walked into Charlotte Sunday night on NBC and walked out on the wrong end of a 32-26 track meet. The Lion's traded blows early, knotting it up 16-all before halftime, but Carolina scored on six straight possessions after punting on their opening drive, and that's a tough way to lose a shootout. And it wasn't for lack of fireworks from Jared Goff, who threw for 412 yards and a touchdown to Sam LaPorta, with Jameson Williams hauling in a 49-yard strike and Jahmyr Gibbs piling up 77 yards from scrimmage and his seventh score of the year. The problem? Bryce Young carved us up, and Tetairoa McMillan — last year's Offensive Rookie of the Year — went for a career-high 192 yards on 14 catches. Detroit's final drive started at the 13 with 2:12 left and we cut it to six with 3:38 to go, but it wasn't enough. At 2-2 and winless on the road, the schedule doesn't slow down. Next Sunday the Lion's travel to Arizona.
