Tough one to swallow down in Charlotte, folks, as the Lions dropped a 32-26 heartbreaker to the Panthers on Sunday night under the NBC lights. Detroit was right there — knotted up 16-all before the half — but Carolina scored on six straight possessions after punting on their opening drive, and that was the difference. Credit where it's due: Jared Goff was dealing, throwing for 412 yards and a touchdown to Sam LaPorta, Jameson Williams hauled in a 49-yard strike down the middle, and Jahmyr Gibbs piled up 77 yards from scrimmage and his seventh score of the year. But Bryce Young carved Detroit up — 29 of 41 for 329 yards and two scores — and rookie Tetairoa McMillan torched our depleted secondary for a career-high 192 yards on 14 catches. The Lion's final drive started at their own 13 with 2:12 to go, and we cut it to within six with 3:38 left, but it wasn't enough. Detroit is 2-2 now, and that 0-2 road mark stings. No time to sulk — we're at Arizona next Sunday, and that's a game we need.
