A kid named Carr beat Penn State in Ann Arbor, and if that doesn't give you goosebumps, check your pulse. With 2:58 left to play, Tommy Carr — son of former Michigan walk-on Jason Carr — converted a third down with a 12-yard touchdown run to put us up for good, 21-18. Lloyd Carr himself was in the stands to watch it happen. We needed every bit of it. Bryce Underwood got benched at the half after two second-quarter interceptions, his fifth and sixth picks of the young season, and the win kept us from an 0-3 Big Ten start for the first time since 1967. Bryson Kuzdzal's 43-yard scamper and Jordan Marshall's 1-yard plunge did the heavy lifting, and when Penn State answered with a late Becht-to-Sowell strike, we pounced on the onside kick and slammed the door. The climb continues at 4-2, 1-2 in the league, and it does not get kinder: we host No. 5 Indiana on Saturday. Buckle up.
